Deaf Inclusion Worker

Actual Salary:  £24,432 p.a

 Hours:   30.4 hours a week 39 weeks a year   8.45am – 3.30pm

We are seeking to appoint from January 5th 2021, a Deaf Inclusion Worker with specialist skills and experience of  working with children and young people with a significant hearing loss.

You  will need to have a Level 4-6 BSL qualification, or at least be able to demonstate a willingness to work towards this. They will also need to have a qualification in Cued Speech, ideally at Level 2.   

This person will be required to support a profoundly deaf student with cochlear implants in the early years of secondary education. To use Sign Supported English to help them access the curriculum and communicate more easily with their peers and Cued Speech to help support the development of their phonics and literacy skills.
