HOSPITALITY AND CATERING APPRENTICE

Job Types: 32.5 hours per week Apprenticeship

Salary: From £5.28 - £10.42 per hour according to age

We are looking for a Hospitality and Catering apprentice to undertake an apprenticeship opportunity with us from January 2024!

This is a great opportunity to enhance your food preparation skills by joining an excellent kitchen team cooking from fresh ingredients to a high standard. You will receive full support and mentoring whilst with us and receive training from Exeter College to give you the best chance of being successful.

You will be involved in food preparation and carry out basic cooking tasks under the supervision of experienced chefs. You will assist in the preparation of fresh food, cooking and service for members of the public as well as pupils of the school.

The course is a Production Chef Level 2, the formal training will be undertaken at Exeter College. The next intake of apprentices will be April/May 2024, until that time, you will be working all week in the café.

If you have a 4 in GCSE Maths and English or above, you will be exempt for functional skills.

A minimum of a level 1 Functional skills in English and maths is desirable. A level 3 in GCSE Maths and English means you will not need to continue studying English and maths as a part of the apprenticeship.

You will also undertake a level 2 food hygiene and safety qualification whilst with us at school. 

Expected duration of apprenticeship: 15 -18 months

Working hours: 32 hours per week, you will be working 5 days, school term time only, some weekend work is available and expected and paid as additional hours
