When students move into the Sixth Form and become Post-16 they lose the automatic entitlement to free home-school transport. Students who are capable of being travel trained should engage with the travel training provided by school, and then apply through our bursary scheme for a Stagecoach bus pass so that they can travel independently to and from sixth form and their work placement via bus. Students who are not ready for this level of independence must demonstrate a need for home-school transport to continue, and as this has to be paid for by parents as an upfront cost, parents of these students may apply through our bursary scheme for reimbursement by school.
