Admissions Procedure

Our current capacity in the Sixth Form is for 60 full-time students, although due to the nature of the staggered work placement days, they are rarely in at the same time. We welcome applications from Year 11 students here at Combe Pafford School and from elsewhere, from the start of the Spring term each year with an application deadline of Easter. The primary need must be Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) may also have Autism or Physical Difficulties and all applicants are expected to :

  • Complete an application form
  • Attend for interview
  • Successfully complete a 3-day trial
  • Take part in any planned induction activities

Students who are successful are offered a place for one year initially on either one of the Work-Ready Pathways, or if they are not ready for these, a place on the Preparation for Working Life Pathway. Students may stay in the Sixth Form for up to three years depending on need, progress and their level of engagement. Student progress is monitored and reviewed each year at the students’ Annual Review, to which all relevant parties are invited.
