Year 7 Take on New Challenges – Summer 2025

Pupils embraced new experiences during a week of adventure.

Lower School’s phase target in the summer term is "We can try new things". Year 7 classes have done lots of learning in school. Pupils have tried new Maths and English strategies, learned new ways to conduct science experiments, and new ways to keep themselves safe in the water when swimming. However, this term we have had the chance to offer Year 7’s a chance to try new things by going on residential. Whether pupils were a part of the group that went to Wales, or the in-school group, all were provided with the opportunity to try activities that they hadn’t before, such as rock climbing, bowling, kayaking, team building, treasure trails, and much more.

It was amazing to see everyone having fun, and giving something a go, even if they weren’t sure about it at first. During residential week, all pupils were able to try something new and encourage others to do the same! After our week of activities, pupils had a chance to evaluate two activities of their choosing.
