Combe Pafford have bought a 2015 Nissan Leaf electric vehicle (EV).
It has a 400volt Lithium-ion 24Kwh battery which charges in 27 mins on a fast charge or 8 hours if charged from a normal household mains socket.
When slowing down, electrical energy is produced to help charge the battery.
The range on a full charge is between 80 and 100 miles.
The safety rating is Euro NCAP five stars.
The car will be used to enhance our Motor Vehicle accreditation, for EV awareness and to ensure our pupils have the opportunity to keep up to date with this ever-improving technology.
Year 7 had the amazing opportunity to experience the climate of the rainforest for themselves at The Eden Project, Cornwall. Pupils explored the rainforest biome and discovered food, shelter and water. They were each awarded a certificate to say that they had played a vital role in being rainforest ranger researchers! It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to put their learning into context and to experience what a rainforest is like. Our tour guide helped reinforce to the children why rainforests are so important. Our favourite part of the trip was walking the cloud bridge. It was a memorable day for all involved.
Combe Pafford girls celebrated National Women & Girls day on Wednesday 1st February.
