Members
Members have a strategic oversight role, similar to shareholders in a company. Their key responsibilities include:
- Appointing and removing Trustees
- Ensuring the Trust is fulfilling its charitable objectives
- Holding the Board of Trustees to account
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is the accountable body for the school and is responsible for:
- Setting the vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Ensuring high standards of education and pupil outcomes
- Overseeing financial performance and probity
- Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Holding the Headteacher and senior leaders to account
Headteacher / Accounting Officer
The Headteacher is also the Accounting Officer, with responsibility for:
- Day-to-day leadership and management of the school
- Delivery of the school’s strategic priorities
- Ensuring regularity, propriety and value for money in the use of public funds
Governance Professional
The Governance Professional supports effective governance by:
- Providing procedural and legal advice
- Ensuring meetings are properly administered
- Maintaining governance records and minutes
- Supporting compliance with statutory requirements
