Having been designated as a Business & Enterprise school in September 2007 we have continued to develop the fine work the school has undertaken over many years in this area.

A unique feature of our school is our new Business and Enterprise centre, which was part funded by our specialist school's capital grant.

The centre contains a general purpose enterprise area which can be used for enterprise activities in retail, manufacturing, product assembly, light catering and Fairtrade promotion.

It also houses our new Motor Vehicle Training Centre which is used both for the teaching of motor vehicle maintenance and for the running of car valeting as a mini-enterprise.

On achieving specialist status, the school appointed a Business and Enterprise Coordinator with several years experience in work-related learning to oversee the implementation of the projects detailed in our bid.  The Coordinator works alongside the Headteacher and Maths and ICT Coordinators to achieve the agreed targets, assisted by an administration support worker.

As a specialist school, we also have responsibility to our partner schools and community groups to contribute and develop our work with them, and to build on our existing partnerships with employers, local businesses and other agencies. A Business and Enterprise Steering Group, chaired by a governor with specific responsibility in this area, monitors the delivery of Business and Enterprise aims to achieve specified targets across the school and community partners.
