SPORTS RELIEF 2010
On Friday 19th March we joined thousands of schools in Britain and raised money for Sports Relief. Pupils paid £1 to wear sports gear or to dress up as their favourite sports star and took part in a range of different sports throughout the day. We had planned for every pupil to run a sports relief mile around the school but due to the rain we were unable to do this. Instead, pupils took part in an obstacle course in the Sports Hall and played handball in the old hall. In the afternoon, Key Stage 2 took part in penalty shoot-outs, basketball shooting, badminton and cricket whilst Key Stage 3 played Dodgeball. In Key Stage 4 there was a football match between Year 10 and Year 11 on the field in terrible conditions. Pupils really enjoyed the match in the rain and the final score was 4 - 4. There will be a re-match in the summer term.
In addition to this, Miss Lavery did a sponsored walk to school from her home in Kingskerswell. She raised £300.
The total raised for Sport Relief by Combe Pafford School was £500.
Mr Davey would like to thank all the staff and pupils who helped to make this such an enjoyable day of fundraising for such a special cause.
