Additional Funding

The Department for Education allocated a Pupil Premium Grant of £126,810 for the period September 2015 to August 2016 to Combe Pafford School and £163,570 from September 2016 to August 2017.

Schools are allocated this grant based upon the number of pupils in any of the previous six years known to be either eligible for free school meals, or children looked after by the Local Authority or children with a parent in the Services.

Schools are able to spend the pupil premium as they wish; there is no expectation that an amount will be spent on any individual child.  As such, all children may well benefit from this grant.

In 16/17 the grant is being used to fund:

  • A Thrive coordinator to work with children who need help with their emotional development
  • A family support coordinator
  • A literacy support team
  • A numeracy support team
  • A pastoral support team
  • Specialist dyslexia support
  • A breakfast club providing a free breakfast to those who need one
  • Careers support and advice
  • Additional resources
  • Residential Visit Costs
  • Careers support & advice
