Cracking Ideas!

By Miss Evans, class teacher of 5E

To kick start this term’s history topic- Cracking Ideas!  5E visited Exeter Museum.  The layout of the museum allowed us to physically walk through a timeline of British history, enabling us to truly experience the big changes.  We began at the very beginning, investigating a time when there were no humans!  As we have a few ‘Dino-Experts’ in 5E, we were really excited to see the fossils!  The children were really well behaved and looked very professional as they made notes on their own clipboards!  There were lots of interesting thoughts about why certain objects on display looked the way they did.  Ashley Coles was particularly interested in a Roman Dagger but noted ‘it was dirty and broken because it was so old’!

As we made our way through the museum we saw lots of artefacts that changed the way people lived.  These objects sparked lots of interesting discussion about the need for different inventions and what we would do without them!
